Each BEIC FLC will be led by a faculty mentor with expertise in both evidence-based teaching practices and education research. BEIC mentors will:
- Gain leadership experience and share their research and teaching expertise with colleagues with similar goals.
- Contribute to the development of novel materials aimed at improving student outcomes at both 2- and 4-year campuses.
- Disseminate their products at biology education research conferences or in biology education journals.
Mentors will meet remotely once a month with their BEIC team and participate in the Summer Institute with their FLC. Mentors will receive a small stipend for their participation, travel costs for BEIC-associated events, and authorship on the resulting publications created by their team.
The application form for 2021-22 BEIC Mentors is now open. Please complete this form by March 12th if interested in serving as a mentor.
