For Mentors

Each BEIC FLC will be led by a faculty mentor with expertise in both evidence-based teaching practices and education research. BEIC mentors will:

  1. Gain leadership experience and share their research and teaching expertise with colleagues with similar goals.
  2. Contribute to the development of novel materials aimed at improving student outcomes at both 2- and 4-year campuses.
  3. Disseminate their products at biology education research conferences or in biology education journals.

Mentors will meet remotely once a month with their BEIC team and participate in the Summer Institute with their FLC. Mentors will receive a small stipend for their participation, travel costs for BEIC-associated events, and authorship on the resulting publications created by their team.

BEIC Mentor applications for the 2024 cohort will open in Winter 2024.
